At the heart of the URBAN II Hetton and Murton Community Initiative is a programme of projects that are delivering the services and the facilities required to develop the area. The Partnership is building that programme with the project sponsors who are delivering the projects.

Any potential project sponsor with an interest in the area is welcome to contact the Partnership through the Development Team. The Team will advise the potential sponsor as to how eligible their proposal is. The Team will then go on to support the sponsor as they go through the application process.

The individual projects form a framework. The project managers and workers become part of a network. The network enables the projects to deliver co-ordinated services to the residents of the area. As the network develops, the points at which residents can engage with the URBAN II Initiative increase and the opportunities for development multiply.

The list of projects is increasing all the time. The Partnership will be allocating support to projects until December 2006. Projects will continue to receive support until December 2008.
